KWEEN DISTRICT


Kween District is a district in Eastern Uganda. The district headquarters are located at BinyinyKween is bordered by Nakapiripirit District to the north, Amudat District to the northeast, Bukwa District to the east, theRepublic of Kenya to the south, Kapchorwa District to the west and Bulambuli District to the northwest. 


The district was created by act of parliament and started functioning on 01 July 2010. Prior to that, it was part of Kapchorwa District. Together with Kapchorwa District and Bukwa District, they were formerly known as Sebei District.Welcome to Kween District

KIBUKU DISTRICT


Kibuku District




Kibuku District is a new district in Eastern Uganda, mainly occupied by the Bagwere. It is named after its 'chief town', Kibuku.


Kibuku District is bordered by Pallisa District to the north, Budaka District to the east, Butaleja District to the south, and Namutumba District to the west. The district headquarters at Kibuku, are located approximately 53 kilometres (33 mi), by road, west of Mbale, the largest city in the sub-region.


Kibuku County is made up of one County which is also called Kibuku. The sub counties of Kibuku: Bulangira sub County, Buseta sub CountyKadama sub CountyKibuku sub CountyKagumu sub CountyKirika sub CountyTirinyi sub CountyKabweri sub CountyKasasira sub CountyKibuku Town Council.

BUYENDE DISTRICT


Buyende District is a district in Eastern Uganda. It is named after Buyende, the 'chief town' in the district and the location of the district headquarters.


Buyende District is bordered by Amolatar District to the northwest, Kaberamaido District to the north, Serere District to the northeast, Kaliro District to the east, Luuka District to the southeast,Kamuli District to the south and Kayunga District to the west. The district headquarters at Buyendeare located approximately 100 kilometres (62 mi), by road, north of Jinja, the largest city in the sub-region.




Buyende District was created by Act of Parliament and began functioning on 01 July 2010. Prior to that, it was part of Kamuli District. One of the reasons given for the creation of Buyende District, was the long distance that residents had to travel from the remote areas in the north of the district, to access services at Kamuli, then district headquarters at that time. The new district is primarily rural, with poor road infrastructure. As of December 2010, there are no hospitals in Buyende District.
Buyende District is part of Busoga sub-region.The districts that constitute Busoga sub-region include the following:
The sub-region is coterminous with Busoga Kingdom, one of the constitutional monarchies in today's Uganda. According to the 2002 national census, the subregion was home to an estimated 2.5 million people at that time.

BULAMBULI DISTRICT





Bulambuli District is a district in Eastern Uganda. The district is named after 'chief town', Bulambuli, where the district headquarters are located.




Bulambuli District is bordered by Nakapiripirit District to the north, Kapchorwa District to the east,Sironko District to the south and Bukedea District to the west. Bulambuli, the district headquarters, is located approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi), by road, northeast of Mbale, the largest city in the sub-region.




BUKWO DISTRICT




Bukwo District is a district in Eastern Uganda. It is named after its main political, administrative and commercial center, Bukwo, where the district headquarters are located.

Bukwa District is bordered by Amudat District to the north, the Republic of Kenya to the east and south and Kween District to the west and northwest. Bukwa, where the district headquarters are located is approximately 83 kilometres (52 mi), by road, northeast of Mbale, the nearest large city.



The district was created on 1 July 2005. Bukwa District was part of Kapchorwa District prior to July 2005. It was created out of Kongasis county. The district has many well-educated native sons and daughters, but many of these educated people have sought for greener pastures in the neighboring country of Kenya.

BUKEDEA DISTRICT




Bukedea District is bordered by Kumi District to the west and north, Bulambuli District to the east,Sironko District and Mbale District to the southeast, and Pallisa District to the south. The district headquarters at Bukedea are located approximately 79 kilometres (49 mi), by road, southeast ofSoroti, the largest city in Teso sub-region.

BUGIRI DISTRICT


Bugiri District is bordered by Namutumba Districtand Butaleja District to the north, Tororo District to the northeast, Busia District to the east, Namayingo District to the southeast, Mayuge District to the southwest and Iganga District to the west. Bugiri, the district headquarters is located approximately 77 kilometres (48 mi), by road, east of Jinja, the largest city in Busoga sub-region.
Bugiri District was carved out of Iganga District, to which it used to belong. The land surface is characterized by gentle undulating hills with few higher residual features. Another feature of the district is its being located in a flat and rolling topographical zone with 90% of its landmass constituting the drainage basins of Lake Victoria and Lake Kyoga. As a result, there are numerous swamps that criss-cross the road network, making the cost of the road improvement costly. In July 2010, the southern part of Bugiri District was split off to form Namayingo District.

Bugiri District is part of Busoga sub-region, which is conterminous with Busoga Kingdom, one of the constitutionally recognised kingdoms in Uganda.

ZOMBO DISTRICT


                                            

Zombo District is a district in Northern Uganda. It is named after its main municipal, administrative and commercial center, Zombo.


Zombo District is bordered by Arua District to the north, Nebbi District to the east, and theDemocratic Republic of the Congo to the south and west. Zombo, where the district headquarters are located is approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi), by road, south of Arua, the largest city in the sub-region. 

This location lies approximately 382 kilometres (237 mi), by road, northwest of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and the largest city in that country.

NWOYA DISTRICT


 


Nwoya District is a district in Northern Uganda. Like most districts in Uganda, it is named after its main municipal, administrative and commercial center, Nwoya, the location of the district headquarters.

Nwoya District is bordered by Amuru District to the north, Gulu District to the northeast, Oyam District to the east, Kiryandongo DistrictMasindi District and Buliisa District to the south. Nebbi District lies to the west of Nwoya District. Nwoya, the main political, administrative and commercial center in the district, is located approximately 44 kilometres (27 mi), by road, southwest of the city of Gulu, the largest metropolitan area in the sub-region. This location is approximately 330 kilometres (210 mi), by road, north of the city of KampalaUganda's capital and largest metropolitan area.



NAPAK DISTRICT




Napak District is a district in Northern Uganda. Like most other Ugandan districts, it is named after its 'chief town', Napak.


Napak District is bordered by Abim District to the northwest, Kotido District to the north, Moroto District to the northeast and east, Nakapiripirit District to the southeast, Katakwi District to the south, Amuria District to the southwest and Otuke District to the west. The district headquarters at Napak are located approximately 80 kilometres (50 mi), by road, southwest of Moroto, the largest town in the sub-region.



Napak District was carved out of Moroto District in 2010. The district is administered by Napak District Administration, with Napak, as the district headquarters. Napak District is part of theKaramoja sub-region. The districts that comprise of Karamoja include:
According to the national census of 2002, the sub-reguion was home to an estimated 800,000 people at that time.
