Background to our 2015 events

The year 2015 has been an exciting one at KAWA Uganda. We successfully participated in an international 10th elearning Africa Conference held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the African Union Headquarters where our Executive Director Moses Wamanga chaired a session on teacher professional development.

Two secondary Schools headteachers trained, inspired and empowered by KAWA were the key speakers at the same Conference. Sister Clare Migisha, headteacher, Iceme Girls Secondary School also presented her success story of Iceme Digital Inclusion Centre in a knowledge session.

Mrs. Olive Kyohere, Headteacher of Luzira Secondary School who was also trained by KAWA gave a moving presentation on how ICT is being used by schools implementing the Universal Secondary School Education provided freely by the government of government.

 Back in Uganda, KAWA organised and elearning  Uganda 2015 after the successful post elearning Africa conference that was held at Trinity college Nabbingo.

    • Launch of KAWA elearning platform by H.E. President of the Republic of Uganda in December 2015.
    • A 5-day Non Residential ICT Training on Integration of Technology in the teaching and learning process in all Secondary Schools from Mon 7th Dec 2015 – Frid 11th Dec 2015)
    • Elearning Uganda 2016, a National ICT conference for all headteachers at Makerere University Business School, on 11th July 2016
